We had a look through pretty much all the popular men’s hairstyles and chose these as our Summer favourites.
- The Peaky Blinder
Going nowhere anytime soon, this cut with it’s shaved short sides and length on top with a defined edge is still one of the biggest styles for Summer.
2. Longish and Layered
Again it’s been around for some time but this cut os perfect for Summer if you like to surf or spend time on the beach, easily styled with some salt spray and a matt paste.
3. Modern Textured Crop
A slight twist on the classic textured crop as this style has shorter sides and a little bit of length left on the fringe area, but still very textured through the top. Perfect if you want to update your style without too much of a change.
4. Blunt Fringe with Fade
A bit more of an extreme look than the modern textured crop but if you’re brave enough this is most definitely the style of the season. It can be customised by altering the length of the fringe and the texture/bluntness of the fringe, also the fade doesn’t necessarily need to be that tight, but we say if you’re going to do it you might as well go for it, it’ll grow back soon enough!
With all the hot weather we’ve had recently and with holidays to look forward to, we round up the best styles for Summer.
- Beach Waves
A classic, beach waves are always a summer staple style, and being the easiest to create are prefect for hot summer days and evenings. Simply spritz in some label.m sea salt spray and allow to air dry, or for more unruly coarser hair spray some Alterna Kendi Dry Oil Mist or some Alterna Caviar Moisture Milk through the ends and twist in to shape before letting your hair dry naturally.
2. Baby Braids
One step on from the beach waves is baby braids, style your hair in to beach waves and then braid some small pieces throughout your hair to add interest. If you really want to amp it up you can add in ribbon or coloured extensions.
3. Braided Bun
The best style for looking effortlessly cool even though you’re melting! The head band added here just gives it a more polished finish.
Our absolute favourite! Accessories finish any hairstyle and with so many available to choose from it’s too easy to add in to your hair.
We scrolled through all the images of Men’s Fashion Week to check the trends set to show up in men’s hair. Good news if you like your hair short the buzz cut is going nowhere! Also still going strong is the longer textured cut, but if you like to stand out that little bit more our favourite are the styles with the short close sides and heavier longer fringe.
However if you’re not that brave you could try this version.
We’re really looking forward to seeing these styles out and about!
We scoured the internet for the best festival hair inspiration to see you through the season. Some of these looks can be created by yourself at home, others are a bit more difficult, but you can come see us for that!
- The Pixie
Probably the most perfect style for festivals, up and out of the way for when you know you won’t be washing your hair for a few days. The Pixie is knotted braids with your baby hair left out, it’s a style that you don’t want to be too perfect and looks effortlessly cool. The Pixie is available in salon as part of our Fashion Fix dry styling menu priced at £20.
2. The Braided Top Knot
Create this festival style by taking a large triangle section on the top front of your head and french plait it towards the crown leaving the hair outside the triangle down, once you’ve secured the braid create a top knot with the top half of your hair including the sides. Add a bit of colour with Label.m Highlighting Toners available in the salon for £10.95
3. Glitter Roots
Glitter roots has to be the easiest look to recreate, just apply some gel to your roots and apply the glitter! The grey colour here really works for this style but if you have pre lightened hair we have a huge range of beautiful bespoke pastel shades, vibrant rainbow shades and neon/U.V colours, available in salon starting from £20. *Skin test required for colour services*
If you love the floaty romantic side of the festival vibe then these looks are for you. You can even add accessories to make it even more romantic!
We will definitely be trying out all these styles this summer, we might even add a pop of colour too!
As Paris Fashion week gets under way we thought we’d take a look at the most wearable hair styles from Milan fashion week. There was a strong continuation of the pony tail, seen at a few shows both sleek and messy but our favourite was the textured pony tails at Burberry styled by Sam Mcknight, definitely one we can work out how to do ourselves and it looks great for both smart and casual.
Another favourite look of ours was the loose waves seen at Fendi, again styled by Sam Mcknight these waves look effortless and a follow on from the air drying trend we expect to see this Spring/Summer.
With both of those looks being so natural it was nice to see a bit of bright colour at Versace. Wella global creative director Josh Wood added strands of vibrant colour to the models hair making it just that bit more exciting and adding a bit of brightness to an otherwise natural looking style.
The best thing about all these looks is they can all be adapted for Spring/Summer so if you can’t wait till Autumn/Winter it’s fine just start now!
